Hurtigt overblik

With a soulful trip to the early days of snowboarding, CAPiTA and Spring Break present a line of hand-crafted surfboards for the snow. Conceptualized by Corey Smith and designed by CAPiTA, these beauties embody the heart of Corey’s garage built, oversized, plywood decks—but have been created using the technology available in the best factory in the world.

A thicker, more buoyant, ultra-lightweight Surflite™ Core combined with a Surf Rocker camber profile and wide shouldered shapes all work together to create zero-gravity float on top of the deepest pow. Packed with technology like Forged Carbon Quad Packs, Holysheet™ fiberglass, and Ultradrive™ high-speed sintered base material we have managed to minimize weight and maximize performance in these oversized frames.

Featuring two all new shapes for 2018, Spring Break will take you one step closer in the search for the perfect wave

Detaljer

PROFILE

  • Surf Rocker Profile

The Surf Rocker features a continuous arching tip and tail inspired by the modern design of many of today’s best surfboards: flat through the inserts with smooth arching tip and tails. The gentle low angle allows for maximum float and control.

  • Flat kick tech

With capita’s flat kick design technology, we’ve tightened the tip profile radius that blends the shoulders of the board into the tip and tail height on reverse camber boards. The tight tip radius in conjunction with tuned blend zones allows you to have a forgiving and easy to ride reverse camber board that is still responsive and quick during edge-to-edge transitions. This also creates a flat tip and tail which increases jibbing stability and also helps the board plane on top of powder creating float and control.

CORE

  • Surflite 2.0 core™

The surflite core™ was designed exclusively for our new spring break powder boards to create a strong, light, and buoyant core that floats to the top of the deepest powder. In surfboard design, a thicker more buoyant board will help the board float much easier than a thin dense one. With this inspiration we have developed and now evolved an industry-first core. As each spring break powder board has a unique shape, each surflite core™ features a unique alignment of blocked balsa and strategically placed poplar throughout the board. In a development partnership with union binding company, we have incorporated forged carbon diamond plates into the insert area of the core, creating the most high-tech and buoyant core of all time.

  • Magic Bean™ Resin

Developed over a three-year span, this all new resin system has a bio-content of 60% renewable, agricultural raw materials. It is plant based that does not compete with primary food sources and is produced with no waste or greenhouse emissions. In production, it has a low-temperature requirement with a high yield output. This resin system is poppy, powerful, and extremely durable. Magic bean™ resin yields much stronger and more rigid qualities allowing us to decrease the wood core thickness. Our focus is to save wood core weight by increasing resin performance. This means you get a lighter board while achieving higher energy return.

  • Forged Carbon Quad Packs

Our friends at union binding company have worked with us to integrate their industry first forged carbon technology into multiple models for 2018. Lighter and stronger than titanium, forged carbon is the future of high-end, performance-based products. The spring break powder boards have completely redesigned forged carbon quad packs in the insert area of the blocked balsa surflite™ core, while the hard-charging wide series warpspeed features forged carbon in the tip and tail eliminating chatter through variable train.

BASE

  • Powder Drive Base

Dynamic and durable, easy to maintain and reliable, this base material is electric through the trees and fast over the flats. Featuring attributes of both sintered and extruded base material the Powder Drive base was exclusively formulated for the extra-wide chassis of the Spring Break Powder Division and were designed with the powder lifestyle in mind.

  • Multitech™ Silkscreen + Die-cut Base

TOPSHEET

  • Holysheet Tri/Tri Fiberglass

The Holysheet fiberglass configuration features fiber weaves with a high tensile strength and low modulus of elasticity. With a higher roving count in the same weight of glass, you can have a stronger and more responsive board without adding extra weight. At the highest level, Triaxial fiberglass is placed on both the top and bottom of the core providing maximum strength, durability and performance, while many of our most sought after models feature Triaxial fiberglass on top of the core and Biaxial fiberglass beneath, creating a perfectly blended ride while increasing strength and durability. Combine one of these two layups with the Magic Bean resin and one of the many additives we have available, and you get an incredibly high performing board tailored to meet your style of riding.

  • PLT Topsheet Technology™

The PLT™ machine sits in a secret hidden corner of the factory behind two very unassuming, nondescript metal doors. The PLT ™ is so secretive that with the exception of its inventor, Mr. Michi Kollmann, all visitors to the room must be versed in an ever-changing secret handshake. PLT™ technology is exclusive to CAPiTA MFG and magically bonds the topsheet to an already pressed snowboard. This is magical because the rest of the world mashes their topsheets on with glue, heat and pressure during the pressing stage. Doing so causes the fiberglass structure underneath to show through the topsheet. And because nobody wants to spend their hard earned cash on a bumpy snowboard, many companies slather their tops with a thick toxic lacquer to smooth things out. Not only is that shit HEAVY and can potentially develop unsightly hairline cracks, it’s also really unhealthy for the working environment. The PLT™ machine produces a featherlight, smooth, high-gloss finish, without all that poisonous deadweight.

  • Multitech™ Level 3 DeepSpace™ Silkscreen + PAM16000™ Topsheet

SIDEWALL

  • FUS3D™ Sidewalls

This mono-composite Thermoplastic is created using a Fused Deposition Process, also known as Additive Manufacturing, which yields high impact resistance at low temperatures and overall improved durability through extruded ABS custom shaped and bonded to the wood core.

  • 360 Degree HRC48 Steel Edges
